<p class="MsoNormal" style=""><span style="font-size: 11pt;">Technology Camp is a five-day experience for 7<sup>th</sup> and 8<sup>th</sup> grade students in the Educational Talent Search (ETS) program. Students who participate in Technology Camp are selected by their advisors from various Cincinnati Public middle schools and are members of the ETS program. Students may petition to be a participant in Technology Camp by submitting a letter to the advisor detailing their desire to participate, how they will benefit and their achievements.</span></p>

<p class="MsoNormal" style=""><span style="font-size: 11pt;"><o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style=""><span style="font-size: 11pt;">Once selected for the program, each student will receive a packet detailing all the information pertaining to Technology Camp. This packet will include permission slips, waivers and photo consent agreements for the duration of the program. Once all signed paperwork has been received and processed, transportation will be provided for all participants daily.<o:p></o:p></span></p>

<p class="MsoNormal" style=""><span style="font-size: 11pt;">The purpose of Technology and STEM (science, technology, engineering, mathematics) camp is to enrich students' understanding of technology and the STEM field. Technology Camp also provides a customized education introducing and familiarizing students with the STEM field and the various opportunities and careers it has to offer. In addition, Tech Camp introduces or reacquaints students with technology, what it represents in today&amp;rsquo;s society, and how it impacts our daily lives<span style="color: red;">.</span><o:p></o:p></span></p>

<p class="MsoNormal" style=""><span style="font-size: 11pt;">Each day, students will be provided with continental breakfast, lunch and transportation. Students will spend half of the day in a classroom with a college professor at <st1:place w:st="on"><st1:placename w:st="on">Xavier</st1:placename> <st1:placename w:st="on">University</st1:placename></st1:place>, learning the origins of technology, and the various career paths within the STEM field.<o:p></o:p></span></p>

<p class="MsoNormal" style=""><span style="font-size: 11pt;">Students and staff will spend a day on the campus of the <st1:placetype w:st="on">University</st1:placetype> of <st1:placename w:st="on">Louisville</st1:placename>, <st1:place w:st="on"><st1:placename w:st="on">Louisville</st1:placename> <st1:placename w:st="on">Science</st1:placename>  <st1:placetype w:st="on">Museum</st1:placetype></st1:place> and the Drake Planetarium. They will participate in hands-on activities at the museums. College campus visits enable students to learn about the importance of GPAs, standardized test scores, and how to select a major, as well as, get a glimpse of college life, criteria for admissions and what it takes to succeed. <o:p></o:p></span></p>

<p class="MsoNormal" style=""><span style="font-size: 11pt;">Technology Camp is a five-day experience for 7<sup>th</sup> and 8<sup>th</sup> grade students in the Educational Talent Search (ETS) program. Students who participate in Technology Camp are selected by their advisors from various Cincinnati Public middle schools and are members of the ETS program. Students may petition to be a participant in Technology Camp by submitting a letter to the advisor detailing their desire to participate, how they will benefit and their achievements.</span></p>

<p class="MsoNormal" style=""><span style="font-size: 11pt;"><o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style=""><span style="font-size: 11pt;">Once selected for the program, each student will receive a packet detailing all the information pertaining to Technology Camp. This packet will include permission slips, waivers and photo consent agreements for the duration of the program. Once all signed paperwork has been received and processed, transportation will be provided for all participants daily.<o:p></o:p></span></p>

<p class="MsoNormal" style=""><span style="font-size: 11pt;">The purpose of Technology and STEM (science, technology, engineering, mathematics) camp is to enrich students' understanding of technology and the STEM field. Technology Camp also provides a customized education introducing and familiarizing students with the STEM field and the various opportunities and careers it has to offer. In addition, Tech Camp introduces or reacquaints students with technology, what it represents in today&amp;rsquo;s society, and how it impacts our daily lives<span style="color: red;">.</span><o:p></o:p></span></p>

<p class="MsoNormal" style=""><span style="font-size: 11pt;">Each day, students will be provided with continental breakfast, lunch and transportation. Students will spend half of the day in a classroom with a college professor at <st1:place w:st="on"><st1:placename w:st="on">Xavier</st1:placename> <st1:placename w:st="on">University</st1:placename></st1:place>, learning the origins of technology, and the various career paths within the STEM field.<o:p></o:p></span></p>

<p class="MsoNormal" style=""><span style="font-size: 11pt;">Students and staff will spend a day on the campus of the <st1:placetype w:st="on">University</st1:placetype> of <st1:placename w:st="on">Louisville</st1:placename>, <st1:place w:st="on"><st1:placename w:st="on">Louisville</st1:placename> <st1:placename w:st="on">Science</st1:placename>  <st1:placetype w:st="on">Museum</st1:placetype></st1:place> and the Drake Planetarium. They will participate in hands-on activities at the museums. College campus visits enable students to learn about the importance of GPAs, standardized test scores, and how to select a major, as well as, get a glimpse of college life, criteria for admissions and what it takes to succeed. <o:p></o:p></span></p>
