Thanks to more than 1,000 passionate volunteers, Cincinnati Youth Collaborative positively impacted over 4,000 students just last year.
Our volunteers serve as mentors, career guides, Lunch and Learn speakers, job shadows, college financial aid guides, competition judges, and so much more. They are the heart of our mission and we are excited to celebrate National Volunteer Week with them.
National Volunteer Week is about inspiring, recognizing, and encouraging people to seek out imaginative ways to engage in their communities. It’s about demonstrating to the nation that by working together, we have the fortitude to meet our challenges and accomplish our goals. It’s about taking action and encouraging individuals and their respective communities to be at the center of social change–discovering and actively demonstrating their collective power to make a difference.
Celebrate Service, the theme for National Volunteer Week, captures the meaning of this signature week: honoring the people who dedicate themselves to taking action and solving problems in their communities.

The founding ideal behind CYC is coming together as a community to empower vulnerable students to overcome obstacles and succeed. Our volunteers live this mission. They come from a variety of backgrounds, including businesses, faith-based organizations, local schools, and government programs. They bring a multitude of gifts, resources, and talents. They create amazing opportunities for our students that put those students on the pathway to success.
This April, we celebrate their service. Happy National Volunteer Week. Thank you for all that you do.
Join the movement and participate in Global Youth Service Day, led by CYC’s AmeriCorps team.
