Every year, law students all over the world plan an annual Barrister’s Ball, a formal affair organized by the Student Bar Association. This February, the law students at University of Cincinnati chose Cincinnati Youth Collaborative to be the recipient of the special fundraising event. The ball was held at Paul Brown Stadium and more than 225 people attended.
Through the event, $649 was raised that will go towards improving the lives of at-risk children and young adults in the Cincinnati area.
Juan Holloman, a second year law student at the University of Cincinnati and the director of this year’s Barrister’s Ball, presented a check to Cincinnati Youth Collaborative on Monday, April 14. Juan is a mentor with Cincinnati Youth Collaborative, making a difference in the life of a Cincinnati Public School student. At the check ceremony, Juan stated, “thank you all for having us. We are greatly appreciative of the chance to donate back to our community. I know how important community is, and I am a big believer that youth are what makes a community strong. Any work that we can do with youth and any money we can give back to help youth is what we’re all about. We greatly appreciate the chance to partner with CYC.”
Jane Keller, President and CEO, Cincinnati Youth Collaborative commented “UC College of Law has been a longtime partner with CYC. We were so pleased to have this support, and thankful that the College of Law continues to think of CYC and advocate on behalf of at-risk students.”
